With minus 3 temps, 31 mph winds, and snow, you guys are on your own. Me? I'm staying by the fire.

Jeff, Jim, and I set out from the condos on the off-trail section of the Douglas trail. It was much too soft with new snow and we spent most of the first stretch just trying to stay upright. So, we spent the remainder of the ride on the gravel roads west and north around Douglas and Pine Island. Jeff did decide to take a little trip on County 3, when the snow had hidden the tar surface edge. The only damage was a tear in his "new" tights. Nothing to the bike (thankfully). And we finished with no further incedents. I finished with over 2 1/2 hours (closer to 3) on a beautiful day (not bad for late January in MN). Now if the trail would just firm up a bit...

Just created and we'll see how much I use this new fangled technology...

Check back often.

Continued dark throughout most of the evening,
with some widely-scattered light towards morning."
