Jeff, Jim, and I set out from the condos on the off-trail section of the Douglas trail. It was much too soft with new snow and we spent most of the first stretch just trying to stay upright. So, we spent the remainder of the ride on the gravel roads west and north around Douglas and Pine Island. Jeff did decide to take a little trip on County 3, when the snow had hidden the tar surface edge. The only damage was a tear in his "new" tights. Nothing to the bike (thankfully). And we finished with no further incedents. I finished with over 2 1/2 hours (closer to 3) on a beautiful day (not bad for late January in MN). Now if the trail would just firm up a bit...
