Reality Check, Big Time!

All else pales in comparison to the news my wife recently received.

Kathy was diagnosed with breast cancer.

We have a great Doctor, who has really taken her care on fulltime and has made some wonderful changes.

Kathy has gotten most of the preliminary tests out of the way. The PET scan shows that the cancer has not spread and is still very localized.

Kathy decided to participate in a clinical study about cancer treatment and as part of that study, they took a biopsy and sent it to California for classification. Then the chemotherapy starts after that.

After ~6 months of chemo, then they are talking surgery, followed by radiation therapy, and lastly hormone therapy for about 5 years or so.

Anyway, they are very hopeful it has been caught in time and they are very postitive that Kathy will beat this.

I have created a link to her blog site at the top of my page. Thanks for all who have visited it already and given her the positive reinforcement she deserves.

On a side note, it is great to have family around to help with things and I'm sure we'll lean on them more in the coming months.

As of now, I am still planning on doing the Arizona bike trip with the Silver Boys (with Kathy's blessing of course or you could say Kathy's permission).

Life sure can change in an instant...
